Addiction Medicine Consulting Services
Dr. Stephen Colameco has been certified in the specialty of addiction medicine since 1987. He is certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine and is a Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine-- a title bestowed upon physicians who have made significant contributions to the society and the specialty; in 2006, there were 219 Fellows of the Society.
Dr. Colameco has served as an addiction treatment program medical director and addiction consultant to psychiatric treatment programs. He has lectured by invitation at addiction and primary care conferences. Dr. Colameco is a charter member of the International Society for Pain and Chemical Dependency and a member of the national faculty of the Core Content Review of Family Practice. He currently holds the academic appointment of assistant clinical professor, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, School of Osteopathic Medicine, Department of Family Medicine.
