Education: Dr. Colameco received academic awards at every level of his Education.

Experience: Dr. Colameco has practiced Addiction Medicine since 1982. He was among the first physicians in New Jersey to be certified in addiction and has been honored by his colleagues with the title of Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine. He began prescribing buprenorphine (Suboxone) as soon as this medication became available in 2002 and was the first to publish an article on Suboxone use in a primary care teaching setting.

Academics: Dr. Colameco has an extensive Academic Resume. He has served as a director of medical education and residency director. He holds an academic appointment at Thomas Jefferson University School of Medicine. The New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians has asked Dr. Colameco to lecture at its annual scientific meetings and to write educational articles about behavioral treatments for chronic pain and treating pain in patients at risk for addiction.

Certifications: Dr. Colameco has maintained Certifications in family practice and addiction medicine.
